Ingredients for the Dough:
- 125 grams (half a pack) of butter or margarine at room temperature
- 1 egg
- Half a cup of granulated sugar
- Half a pack of baking powder
- Flour as needed (approximately 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons)
Ingredients for the Apple Filling:
- 4 medium-sized apples (3 if large)
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
For Topping:
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
Prepare the Apple Filling:
- Peel and grate the apples.
- Add cinnamon and sugar to the grated apples.
- Cook the mixture until the apples are soft.
- Remove from heat and let it cool.
Prepare the Tart Dough:
- In a bowl, mix the egg, butter, and sugar thoroughly with your hands.
- Gradually add the baking powder and flour.
- Knead until you get a soft dough that does not stick to your hands.
- Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.
Assemble the Tart:
- Set aside a piece of dough the size of an orange.
- Roll out the remaining dough to fit a medium-sized baking dish or tart pan.
- Grease the baking dish and place the rolled dough in it.
- Spread the cooled apple filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll out the orange-sized dough piece and cut it into strips.
- Place the strips over the apple filling in a lattice pattern.
Bake the Tart:
- Preheat the oven to 185°C (365°F).
- Bake the tart until it is golden brown.
Serve:
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
